New Horizons Cooperative Preschool

New Horizons Cooperative Preschool was formed in 1968, following the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., to provide an atmosphere where children and their families from different racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds can learn, play and grow together. Children from around the world, including Mexico, South America, Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam and Bosnia have attended the school.

Children learn by experiencing and making choices.  Activities and materials are presented in English and Spanish.  Children with special needs are welcomed in all classes.

As a cooperative preschool, parents participate in their child’s education in many ways, including volunteering in the classroom 1–2 times per month, participating in fundraising and serving on the board.

New Horizons is a rich, varied, and inclusive community of families where you can be a part of your child’s early education.
